Position: Ceremony Hall Attendant
Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week
Salary: £11.44 per hour

Are you a compassionate, friendly, and professional individual with a passion for helping others? The Hurlet Crematorium is seeking a dedicated Ceremony Hall Attendant to join our team. As the public face of our crematorium, you will play a key role in ensuring that every service is unique, respectful, and memorable.

Working flexibly, 5 days per week 4 hours per day which will include regular weekends, evenings and early mornings on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master of Ceremony Duties: Work closely with Funeral Directors to help create a calm and dignified environment for services, ensuring all runs smoothly and respectfully.
  • Personalised Support: Assist families with any special requests to make their service unique and personal, ensuring every detail is attended to with care and empathy.
  • Customer Service: Serve as a point of contact for families and guests, providing a warm, welcoming, and supportive presence.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly and efficiently handle any issues or unexpected changes that arise, always maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure that the ceremony hall is clean, presentable, and welcoming for every family arriving, including setting up and clearing away after services.
  • Communication: Liaise with Funeral Directors and other staff to coordinate service timings, special arrangements, and any necessary adjustments.

About You:

  • Friendly, empathetic, and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Able to remain calm and composed in emotionally charged situations.
  • A proactive problem solver who can think on their feet.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Experience in customer service or a public-facing role is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
