The Hurlet Crematorium receives ‘excellent’ inspection results
Local Facility Wins Top Accolade at the Prestigious 2024 Scottish Funeral Awards
The Hurlet Crematorium has been named as the Best Crematorium in Scotland for a second time at the prestigious Scottish Funeral Awards.
The Awards were created to establish an independent platform in recognition of the diverse range of people and organisations working within the funeralcare sector across the country.
The prestigious Best Crematorium in Scotland category recognises the delivery of the highest levels of service and care for families, positively working with the local community, supporting local charities, and working to protect the environment and enhance biodiversity.
In a second achievement on the night, the Hurlet Crematorium was also Highly Recommended in the Outstanding Contribution to the Funeral Industry category – the only crematorium in Scotland to be recognised within this category.
Commenting on being named the Best Crematorium in Scotland for a second time, David McNaughton, Manager of the Hurlet Crematorium said:
“We are so incredibly proud of the services we provide here at the Hurlet Crematorium, and for the work we do in our community, including supporting our local Hospices and Charity Partners.
“We have the most incredible building, in the most incredible location, providing a genuinely unique sense of space, comfort and tranquillity, coupled with our very special and dedicated team, who work tirelessly every day to ensure we provide the very highest levels of care for our families.
“We have also been able to give back over £30,000 to our local hospice through our membership of the innovative ICCM metal recycling scheme over the past couple of years.
“Our sincere thanks go to all of the families who have entrusted us to provide them with such sensitive care, and to our exceptional network of local funeral director colleagues for their unwavering support, and to the many people and stakeholders who have helped us achieve this very special accolade for an unprecedented second time.”
Jeremy Hamilton, joint founding director of the Hurlet Crematorium added:
“To be named the Best Crematorium in Scotland once is a great achievement, to be named Best Crematorium for a second time is something very special, and we feel genuinely humbled.
“We created the Hurlet Crematorium 3 short years ago with the single aim of establishing the highest quality crematorium in the country, and to providing truly exceptional care for local families when support is most needed.
“This Award recognises that the Hurlet Crematorium truly is a special and unique place – and we are so incredibly proud of our team.”
